v 0.10


OK, another round of playtesting, another round of changes.


There were two parts of the changes last time. The GM changes worked more or less perfectly. Stakes, moves and tracks all function as intended. Player changes however did not end up working out. They changed the feel of the game, and discouraged behavior I wanted.

v0.10.00 is here and I've got a good feeling in my bones. But I kinda always do? More playtesting will show if I'm right.

  • Player sheets largely reverted back to v0.08.00
  • EFFECT has now been formalized. Easy way to frame how Qualities and Advantages help
    • Thanks to Blades in the Dark for helping me find the vocabulary!
  • MANY vocabulary changes throughout
    • Make Trouble changed to Invite Trouble
    • Lost changed to End of the Road
    • Doomed changed to Affliction - and now you can fill in the blank!
    • GM changed to Narrator
    • Tracks are divided into ticks
  • Unfortunately had to remove player principals. No space. Boo!
  • Visual redesign. I feel like it's finding it's own voice now.
  • More clarification on the character sheet
  • Character and Narrator sheets have been combined into a single two-page PDF. The intention is that all players print front-and-back, and are so able to flip it over and reference the other half of the rules. Narrators can double-check character rules, and vice-versa.
